Yoga by the sea

Our Yoga by the sea classes run year round (weather permitting). We offer 45 minutes of outdoor flow in beautiful surroundings, a great way to feel connected with our beautiful North Yorkshire coastline.

SUP Yoga classes

During the summer months we also offer Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga classes, this is a great way to experience the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and coast whilst challenging your muscles in a whole new way. 

We provide a yoga specific paddle board and paddle, you just need to wear a wetsuit just in case you fall in. If you don't have your own wetsuit you can hire from most of the local surf schools.

When you join us for SUP yoga we will start with an introduction to the equipment and quick re-cap of paddle and self rescue technique before we paddle out to the perfect spot. Once anchored up your SUP yoga class will begin, after class we then paddle back to shore. The whole experience lasts for approximately an hour and a half.

Your instructor Helen has completed SUP Yoga teacher training, is a qualified WSA SUP Instructor and holds the WSA SUP Safety & Rescue qualification as well as being a SLSGB Surf Lifeguard.

Private Classes

If you haven't tried yoga before, are not sure about taking part in a class setting, or are working on a particular area in your yoga practise then a private class is for you. I deliver 1-2-1 yoga classes specifically tailored to you.


Private classes can be offered either in person at the Buddhist centre in Scarborough, in a suitable outdoor setting or online over Zoom if you prefer.

Indoor Classes

We have two styles of yoga classes. Vinyasa flow yoga classes focus on moving through a sequence of yoga postures synchronising the movement with your breath. Yin yoga classes work into the connective tissues and are much slower with seated and floor poses being held for 3-5 minutes.

We currently have four indoor classes per week:

Monday 7:30-8:30pm Vinyasa Scarborough Buddhist Centre

Tuesday 6:00-7:00pm Vinyasa Whitby Flowergate Hall.

Wednesday 6:15-7:15pm Vinyasa Scarborough Buddhist Centre

Wednesday 7:30-8:30pm Yin Scarborough Buddhist Centre
