The year ahead - what's to come in 2022

I hope you have all had a wonderful festive season and are excited for the year ahead. I took two weeks off to have a rest, catch up with family and enjoy the celebrations. I am now feeling rejuvenated and excited to move ahead into 2022.

We've got lots of great things coming up for the year ahead:

There will be a 6 week introductory online yoga course for beginners, which you can do from the comfort of your own home. This starts on Wednesday 6th January at 5:30pm. Beginning with a short pranayama (breathing exercise), followed by an exploration of yoga poses breaking them down in detail so you understand exactly how they should feel. Finally each week will end with a short guided Savasana so you end the session feeling relaxed.

Going forward for winter yoga by the sea I will book sessions into the calendar the week before as long as the forecast looks promising. That way we will hopefully avoid having to cancel with each winter storm that rolls through. Fingers crossed they all passed by in November and December and we just have nice frosty blue sky winter days from now on!

Our regular yoga by the sea classes will be back from late spring once the clocks have gone forward and the daylight hours have increased enough to give us plenty of light.

SUP yoga will also return this summer and I am pleased to announce that I now have a small fleet of yoga specific boards for you to use. You will just need to bring yourself and clothes you don't mind getting wet or a wetsuit just in case you do fall in!

We'll be teaming up with our local surf schools to bring you more Saltwater Soul days this year to bring you a great day of yoga and surfing or stand up paddle boarding depending on the conditions.

Our yoga & wild swimming sessions will return in 2022 combining yoga, a sea safety talk and an introduction to wild swimming.

New for this year especially for novice triathletes or those who find the swim to be their weakest discipline, I am introducing a Triathlon focused yoga & swim workshop. We’ll start the day with a yoga class specifically designed to complement your triathlon training. This will be followed by time in the water working on open water swim techniques such as breathing, sighting and buoy turns. This workshop will be limited to just 6 participants.

As always if you would prefer a private yoga class either 1-2-1 for yourself or if there is a group of you that would prefer a bespoke yoga class please get in touch and we can chat through your requirements.

There are also several more things in the pipeline - kids yoga classes and more indoor classes in Scarborough. I’ll announce these in my monthly newsletter once I have confirmation on timings and venues.

Feeling very excited for the year ahead, hope to see you on the mat or paddle board during 2022.
